Special Education Programs

Offered by the Faculty of Commerce

 

 (1) Commercial Studies Program in English

    The Faculty offered a special program for studying the commercial courses in both baths (i.e., Accounting, and Business Administration) in English. This program started in the academic year 1999/2000. Every academic year the Faculty accepts 220 freshman students according to the decisions of the Faculty Council. This number could be increased, but the Faculty Council decided to stick with limited number because of the purposes of quality. There is a separate section for managing and implementing the commercial studies in English. The Faculty administration intends to revise the study in this section to be based on the credit hours in the coming academic year.

(2) Open Learning Program

    With the beginning of 2006/2007 academic year, the Faculty of Commerce has the initiative to start the new program of “Open Learning”. The Faculty administration has decided to adopt this new program in response to the needs of tens of people who want to pursue their higher education (after 5 years or more of their secondary education stage, or 3 years or more after their technical education). The Faculty arranged a very good promotional campaign to inform  the target segment particularly in the area of Delta about the open learning program, as well as to encourage the potential students to join the program. Our first experience with new program was good where about 360 students were enrolled to the program in the first semester.

 The open learning program offered by the Faculty was prepared and designed carefully based on the credit hour system, and approved by both the University Council, and the Universities Supreme Council.

 Teaching in the open learning program is always implemented on Friday and Saturday every week. All academic departments of this Faculty are involved in this new program through the related courses.

(3) Post-graduate Studies Program in English

(This Program will be into Effect Soon)

   Two years ago, the Faculty Council endorsed the proposal offered by the Faculty Vice-Dean for post-graduate studies and research to establish a new program for post-graduate studies in English. A few weeks later, both the Post-graduate Studies Council, and the University Council approved the proposal, and decided to send it to the Universities Supreme Council. Little amendment was required to get the final and official approval for this new program. The new program is based on the credit hour system. According to the plan of the Faculty administration, the post-graduate studies program in English will be implemented next academic year.
